About the project

Harvesting Water depicts the various farms in California covering 25 million acres and making over $40 billion a year. With their crucial dependency on water to grow food on a massive scale, most of the state’s water—about 80%—is used for irrigation, especially in the dry southern areas where crops need constant watering.

The images are not only meant to highlight where and how our some of food is produced but to also encourage us to think about the sustainability of such massive undertaking in this semi-arid region of the country.
